Loggia dei Lanzi– Located in Florence, Italy, the Loggia dei Lanzi originally protect diplomats from the weather during the conduction of outdoor ceremonies (Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence). The structure was built between 1376 and 1382, under the rule of Cosimo I de’ Medici (Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence). In Dan Brown’s Inferno, a mysterious new character stands in the shadows of the Loggia, and watches as Dr. Sinskey is sedated in a van belonging to the Consortium.
– A hypodermic syringe is a device used to inject liquids or gases into the body. In Inferno, the agents of the Consortium administer doses of a sedative to Dr. Sinskey to prevent her from connecting with the World Health Organization after she has been kidnapped. The injections play a major role in the plot, as they prevent Sinskey from finding a way to contact Langdon.
