Hall of Geographical Maps

The Hall of Geographical Maps is located on the second floor of Palazzo Vecchio. In this room there are fifty three maps of the world in sixteenth century. It was built by Giorgio Vasari under the order of Medici family. In Inferno, Robert Langdon and Sienna discovered some secrets here.

Cloak room is place for people to hanging their clothes. It is typically found in large buildings such as gym, school and meeting halls.

 

 

 

Mappa Mundi

Mappa Mundi is Latin, and it means any map from Medieval time. There are many different types of Mappa Mundi, such as simple schematic maps or elaborate complex maps. Many pieces of Mappa Mundi are in the Hall of Geographical Maps.

Armenia is a mountainous country located in south caucasus region of Eurasia. It is in the crossroads of West Asia and East Europe, bordered by Azerbaijan and Georgia.  The Kingdom of Armenia was established in 6th century B.C. It was the first state in the world to adopt Christianity as its religion. Behind the Map of Armenia, Langdon found some secrets.

 

 

Duchess Bianca Cappello

Bianca Cappello was born in Venice, and her family was one of the richest and most powerful family there. She married a poor clerk when she was young, and  after the death of her first husband, she married Francesco I’ de Medici, the Grand Duke of Tuscany.(Tuscany is a central area of Italy and its capital is Florence).
