Osfour explains how the agents of Vevoda think that S. could be a potential danger because he had seen the Black Vine. Then, Osfour answers S.’s question of his identity saying S. is known because he could endanger Vevoda but nobody knows that the other aspects of him and they are insignificant in that time and place. S. then asks if Osfour knows Sola. Osfour says he doesn’t but when S. asks if Osfour knew Szalome, he gets a slightly confusing answer. However, Osfour still admits that he doesn’t know who S. is talking about. When S doesn’t believe his answer and questions the liability of Osfour’s statements, Osfour tries to tell S. that making assumptions is a dangerous habit.
FXC mentions in the footnote that Straka believed in the existence of groups which composition were unknown to the general people but were known to be very lethal.Straka was aware of a group based in London according to FXC. FXC also mentions that in one of the last of the letters Straka used to write to her, he mentioned about a letter he possessed authored by Sir Aston Cockayne in 1685 which hinted that such underground group was involved in a murder an campaign that made Shakespeare leave London and shift to Stratford. FXC talks about how Straka wasn’t completely sure about the authenticity of the letter and how she hasn’t been able to locate it or find indirect references to it in any form of literature. Eric mentions that Cockayne was real.
COCKAYNE WAS REAL(BUT DIED IN 1684). I’ve NEVER FOUND ANY EVIDENCE THAT THIS IS WHAT HE THOUGHT, THOUGH..
In the annotations, Jen talks about how S is seeking for Sola but doesn’t know where he can find her but only knows the fact that he wants to find her. However, Straka on the other hand, knows where to find Filamela, but choosses not to. Jen and Eric mostly talk about Filamela and her relationship with VMS and her experience of falling in love.
Big difference: S is trying to find Sola. He keeps getting distracted but he knows he wants to find her. Totally different from Straka-he knew where to find Filamela and he never chose to do it.
