The group wakes up to a beautiful day, and they enjoy breakfast at the campfire before heading off. Stenfalk lures a pine marten towards them with crumbs of his pie, and the group shares a laugh when it bares its teeth and hisses at S.. They then head out and travel for the majority of the day, only stopping for a midday meal.

Jen makes a comment on the association of animals with S.:

What is it w/ S. and animals? They seem to sense something about him that people can’t (or don’t).

Is S. possibly of an inherently evil demeanor, considering the pine marten’s reaction to him?
