The attachment features a newspaper clip with an obituary of F.X. Calderia. The clip was translated by E.P.,  upon the request from Erich. The newspaper was published on May 28, 1964. According to the obituary, FXC’s age was unknown upon her death in Feira Nova, and her reason to remain anonymous remained a puzzle. FXC was also said to be “estranged from his family”. Interestingly, the obituary refers FXC as “he”, not, as Erich and Jen concluded earlier, “she”. It is likely that either FXC is faking her death or sex, or Erich and Jen gained the inaccurate information.

The monkey reference is again played out. The Capuchin monkey is used by Straka to mock the Bouchards, who offers V.M. Straka a prize for his Miracle at BraxenholmThe Capuchin monkey is also seen on the street with the Old Quarter (as the pet of the organ grinder) and in the ship that S sails.
