Sounds of machinery start appearing as they go. Waqar covers S. with the net more to hide him despite of S.’s discomfort. The canoe continues to bear left and follows a narrow and smaller tributaries. Then roofs of thatched huts appear.

“Old village. Old ways.” Anca says.

S. asks if they live here. They reply with “We always have. We always will.”
