Upon hearing the sirens from the aeroplanes above, the vendors begin packing up their wares retreating into the buildings, alleys and shadows behind them. A vendor spills bread twists on the ground and for a second, S thinks the twists are in the shape of the S symbol. Osfour suddenly grabs S and they dart down a narrow alley into a secret room.

Jen exclaims, “Just got a bunch of docs from Perpighan!!” It is unclear what these documents consist of exactly, but they are probably useful for Jen and Eric’s research on Straka. When Eric asks if the documents were sent to Jen’s building, she replies she “had them sent to Vanessa.” Eric worries, “It’s just a matter of time before they realize they’re helping us.”

On a different note, Jen tells Eric, “I had asked about any refs to birds in letter, journals, etc.” She finds a journal entry by Alexandria on New Year’s Day, 1922. Alexandra bird-watched that day and listed the birds she saw, which consisted of “all of our friends from Prague 1910. Sarras (Hindi for stock), Pearraid (Scottish Gaelic for parrot), Swan and Finch.” Jen makes a guess that Saaras stands for Singh, Pearraid is Macinnes and Swan and Finch are Looper and Summerbsy. Based on the context of the journal entry, it is possible that one of these four people was the guest from Prague.
