p. 17

The page describes the woman as a foreign being from a better part of the world. The man admires her posture, neat attire, calmness and her overall beauty. He also wonders what other’s might be thinking of him and comes with a couple of interpretations. One of them is that “he is waiting for something or someone but is not sure what, or who, that might be.” Jen thinks that she totally believes Straka was trying to talk about himself. “I totally read this as Straka talking about himself-waiting for someone(in a romantic way).” Eric then asks her to be careful on connecting everything in the story of the book to the author which might be a dangerous move as a reader trying to figure out the theme/message/mystery in a book. Jen also hints that she is waiting for somebody( in a romantic way) with her note to the reply to Eric’s suggestion of being aware of drawing conclusions with being careful.

NOT SAYING THAT I DON”T -JUST SAYING WE NEED TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT THE CONCLUSIONS WE DRAW

Maybe I’m reading it that way b/c I’m just sitting around cluelessly waiting for somebody.

Eric and Jen also wonder about Straka’s affairs and Eric points out a consensus that a salesman TOLD a women that he was VMS. The same note is referenced later by Eric.

….Oh, wait-you were talking about me there, weren’t you…

For a boy Genius, you’re pretty slow sometimes.
