Early in the page, a reference to another work by Straka, Winged Shoes , is mentioned: “wearing the dead man’s boots.” In the footnote, FXC writes about Straka being fond of extracting central images from earlier works. Jen notices that the footnotes seem more reasonable in chapter 4. She suspects that it’s because the chapter 4 code was easier to put in.
