Eric writes to his “Fellow Birders” – Jen – from Feira Nova, Sergipe which is located in the East of Brazil. He says that people have seen the nightingale he is in search of but they don’t know where she went. In a book called Bird’s of Brazil by a fictitious author named Alves, Eric references page 389 with the quote “se tenho que morrer, que seja na praia” which translates into “if I have to die, let it be on the beach” which appears in Winged Shoes on page 377. Since the page Eric writes in the postcard does not correspond with the page that the quote appears on, it is possible that he is referring to page 389 of Ship of Theseus. That is the page S. is finally reunited with Sola. Eric hopes to find the real life image of Sola, FXC.
