As he continues a wave of memories comes back and S is bombarded with details of his past. At one point the text states, “What is it that causes him to lose track of his surroundings?” and this is where the only annotations occur. Eric highlights the previous passage and states, For me: it used to be work. Now it’s you. Jen then flirtatiously responds, Bullshit. Work’s still part of it. to which Eric responds, But not all. Big difference. This interaction shows the developing romantic connection that Eric and Jen share, and the level in which their relationship stands. With comments such as these, it is apparent that their relationship has come far from their interactions on the first few pages.
