Stats: 1078 web requests in July
232 BLWC books put on reserve, and sent up to Davison
Highlights:
• Staffing: vacations galore, lots of covering at all branches
• Millennium Circ: Weird issue of an item checked out on two patron records at the same time. Even when checked back in and then out to one of them, it would go onto both records. Fixed when Dan deleted the item record and re-created it. (Dan Frostman, Millennium Exorcist ; for all of the ghosts in your machine)
• BLSE: Packed up BLSE reserve books on Fri, did final sweep on Sun afternoon and checked in six bins of books for Main
• BLWC: Set up for BLWC on Tues
• Music: Took student out to lunch
o Finishing up weeding and shifting projects
o Steady flow of returns
• Armstrong: The summer session is winding down, with busy spurts throughout the day.
o Lots of printing going on, with few problems.
o Requests are up and down.
o Monday, busy with language student’s printing, finishing up projects.
o Updating Ill instructions with input from summer workers.
o Students have been assigned to wrap up map projects this week.
o It’s time to call in a repair for our broke bound periodicals section.
• Reserves: Email sent to All Faculty with reserve information and reminder to submit materials soon. A large number of requests have been received, and they keep coming in.
o BLSE books packed up from Davison, 51 boxes returned to Main. Unpacking and reshelving books has begun.
o End of term BLSE reserve lists created, emailed to all BL faculty, and saved in BLVT-09 folder
Challenges
• Equipment demand reaching a peak — camcorders, FW drives, and laptops have been maxed out
• Equipment checked in but missing equipment: quips and power supplies for camcorders have gone missing
• A rip in the space-time continuum threatened briefly on Tuesday to swallow the Main reference section, but everything is fine now.
• Friday trouble with plotter use. Had to stay late to find someone to fix a jam in the plotter. (Armstrong)
• Bound periodicals need weeding – future storage options? (Armstrong)
