Room and Space Reservations – Main Library
You can find lots of great info about room scheduling at go/schedule. Click on Space Availability Search to locate rooms and check on availability. Search by “lib” in the 25Live system to locate spaces and rooms in the Library.
After hours, study and viewing rooms in the Library can be used on a first come-first served basis, with the understanding that advance reservations scheduled through Event Management will always have priority.
For more information about reserving space for displays check go/lis?display. Display spaces can be reserved and will also be listed in the Events Scheduling 25Live system if there are questions about availability.
Please help as best you can with display and room schedule questions and requests. Check go/schedule for room/space details. If you can’t find the answer, please refer to a Circ supervisor.
Room reservations in the Main Library
(For full details on space attributes and availability see go/schedule)
As a general rule most spaces and rooms need to be reserved in advance through Event Management. In addition, some rooms (Lib 145. 221, 105) may also be scheduled by LIS.
Nina Cameron – Circ Student of the Week
Congratulations to Nina Cameron!
Nina was nominated by Todd this week for quickly and efficiently learning new policies and procedures, and for taking the initiative to help with any and all Circ tasks that need doing. Very impressive – thanks, Nina!
Chocolate awaits you at the Main Circ desk – please stop by!
Remember to send me your nominations by Thursdays of every week.
Happy Friday to all – hope you have a great weekend.
Reserve Reminders
Books and media on Reserve need a little extra attention to ensure that they are available when needed for class reading/viewing.
At check-out:
Tell the borrower the time and date due back
Tell the borrower that hourly Reserves are library-use-only
Never let the item leave the Circ Desk without being checked out
Always check reserve materials out to yourself if you need to borrow reserve materials for your classes – even if you are reading them while working
At check-in:
Look for the green dot or yellow reserve sticker on the spine (replace if missing or falling off)
Look for the “on reserve” message
Re-shelve immediately in the correct spot on the Reserve shelves behind the Circ Desk
Alert a Circ supervisor immediately if:
The item is missing, not where you think it should be, or is overdue
Requests for the book/media go unfilled – for peak activity times, we can actually shorten the due time to ensure access to more students
If demand consistently exceeds supply, we may need to consider adding another copy
Many thanks for the help!
