Notes from no meeting

A few announcements in lieu of the meeting today. Please let me know if there are agenda items for our meeting on 3/10 at 3 pm in Lib 145.

Meeting rescheduled due to snow storm.

Thanks to Kellam for bringing in cookies for our meeting! She may still give you one if you ask nicely. 🙂

Wiki – please review and edit weekly, daily, semester, monthly etc. checklists. Is everything listed? Are there things that are slipping through the cracks? Editing the wiki is a shared responsibility; many eyes and hands make the work lighter and the content more relevant and accurate. Stay up to date with all changes by watching the page; if you have not yet done so, please log in to the Borrowing and the Circulation Workgroup pages and click on the “watch page” box; when editing and making content changes, include a summary of changes so that others will be alerted; when making minor edits, click on the “minor edit” box – no need to alert others. You may need to change your personal settings to activate email alerts. Let me know if you have any questions.

Schedules – please check the Circ Outlook calendar frequently for changes to schedule; and alert me to any gaps in desk or work coverage.

Weekly report next week – please include Dan on your reports to me – he’ll be compiling the weekly circ report in my absence.

Google calendar for student schedules – Dan needs to hear from you! Please reply to him with your thoughts by the end of the day on Friday.

Equipment – check out the new red returns cart at Main! Please check regularly for items that need to be checked in; re-image and charge as needed and whenever possible throughout your shift. At shift change – please pass on any unresolved equipment issues to the next shift supervisor; check the equipment work counter before you leave for items that have been re-imaged, charged and ready to go back to their place on the shelf. Refer requests for loans past 1 renewal and for month/semester long loans to Steve for follow-up.

Circ goals – please review the draft in the shared folder and make suggestions/edits directly in the document. Don’t be shy! It is in your interest to make sure the goals are relevant, measurable, realistic, and attainable. As you review the goals – ask yourself if you can extract personal goals from the workgroup goals. We all need to set personal goals when we meet for PFDP meetings in March. \\Middlebury.edu\middfiles\orgs\LIS\Circulation Services\Reports – Monthly and Weekly – Circ Services Goals – DRAFT Feb 2010

Speaking of PFDP’s…if you have any peer comments about your co-workers on the Circ team, please send them to me. This is totally optional – no obligation. Peer feedback can be confidential if you prefer; I will respect your privacy and confidence. Please feel free to send any feedback about my performance this past year to Mary. What has gone well? What could have gone better? Thanks!

Mill Circ: one slight change to view settings in the mxcirc logins – patron notes will not display; click “view” to see patron notes. Patron notes will still display in the mxcircsu log-ins.

Patron notes/messages. Notes are preferred. Remember to date and initial notes and messages. If you use messages, please date them and remove them when they are no longer relevant. Please limit the use of patron messages and use notes instead whenever possible.

Film Screening bookings – please keep track of any issues – we’ll discuss at our next meeting. Override as needed to accommodate scheduled class screenings. Be aware that there are times when things might be booked in one person’s name and a last minute change may necessitate an override/booking adjustment.
