Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics:
• Number of items on reserve: 1,300
• Number of 65W Dell power adapters we need to replace: 8
• Number of DVDs from the new collection that have circulated in the first three days of classes: 201
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Busy start
• Lots of ILL, NExpress
• Busy with reserves, recalls, etc.
• Student staff is great
• A few new students getting trained
• Library instruction classes being taught
Davis Family:
• Circ staff meeting
• Craziness that is the first week of classes
• Students showing up, getting trained, using Google calendar
• Student training next week
• Worked on new technology@Midd website for students
• Documentation for iPads added to the wiki
• Swapping power adapters for higher wattage
• Interviewing three candidates for circ sub position next week
• Conversations with Rebekah about New Books and Browsing collections
Stacks:
• Signage for DVD collection
• Reshelving returns kept over the summer by patrons
• Prepping carrels for Tuesday
Reserves:
• ERes: 120 course pages created/restored for 75 faculty members; all Eres pages are linked to their appropriate Course Hub; all 75 faculty have received personal emails from me regarding the Course Hub; 533 documents/links added to Eres
• 750 reserve emails processed
• Ending world hunger delayed till next week

Web team: marketing LIS services, poster creation (I’m meeting with Stew to re-vamp Screening request form tomorrow)
Space Team: no meeting

Challenges:
• Printer problems at Armstrong – resolved
• Confusion over photocopying
• Student reminders – a few issues
• DVD misshelving
• Finding a sub for closing shifts later next week

  1. Very excited about the I-Pads. Also, Angie and I are a little bummed about delaying our world hunger goals. However, we do understand this is a busy week.
