Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics: We entered a bunch of ref stats into Zoho for Stats Week last week, but I don’t have access to them, so…
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Gearing up for break – student schedules for Thanksgiving, exams, J-term
• Armstrong busy, mostly as a computer lab
• Increased ILL
• Lots of student shift swapping
Music:
• J-term schedule set – one gap remaining
• Thanksgiving and exams schedules close to full
• Various meetings to discuss the upcoming move
Davis Family:
• Kindle discussions – should we circulate them, how?, etc.
• More than usually student shift subbing, swapping – lots of work for staff
• Several carts of new books processed
• Lots of student schedule work (Thanksgiving, exams, J-term) entering into Outlook
• Prepping for holiday celebrations for students
• Fac/staff PCs being used heavily
• Ref session for student staff
Stacks:
• Prepping for stacks measurement project
• Lots of returns – expanding stacks students pool
Reserves:
• Becoming much more comfortable with Fair Use, thanks to online copyright workshop
• Participated in Copyright in Academia workshop
CT team: planning for LMS pilots
Space Team: Met with Facilities Project manager; processing Oberlin group stats;

Challenges:
• Plotter down at Armstrong – fixed
• New books take too much staff time, create confusion for users – looking to stop showcasing new books
• Some equipment cataloging confusion
• Browsing DVDs not shelved in envelopes but out in the stacks – training issue being dealt with student by student (after blog post and email didn’t fix issue)
• Mud-covered streakers in the building
