Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Nexpress requests sent to Middlebury in September: 801 – a new record! (and nearly twice what we sent out)

Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Updating laptops, lab computers, solving printer issues
• ILL picking up
• Wrote on the LIS blog
• Bindery shipment sent out
• Hugely successful map giveaway
• Monthly search list searched
Music:
• Quiet
• Student staff doing lots of schedule swapping/covering
• Planning for fall break
Davis Family:
• Circ conference in WI
• Students swapping shifts like crazy – hard to keep up
• Planning for Fall Break student schedule
• Last bits of training with new students
• Browsing areas now “spooky”-themed
• Screenings going smoothly
• Procured the DVD-cleaner from P&P
• Activity level is pretty high in the evenings
• Monthly stats, lists
Stacks:
• Carrel locks issues
• Trained staff on map procedures at Armstrong
• Steady routine
Reserves:
• First winter term request processed! (GAH! – Ed.)
• Shifting reserves media shelving as it continues to expand
• Sending ERES hard copies back to faculty
• Signed up for copyright webinar for next month
CT team: Met with Shel and Mike R. to discuss approval of our recommendations
Space Team: Presenting to AD’s on Thursday

Challenges:
• Reserves: browsing DVD (checked out) needed for screening. Working out workflow for these occurrences
• Reserves: Trouble accessing some ERES documents – working with Bryan C. and Helpdesk
• HS student taking classes trying to borrow material without an ID = can open, worms everywhere
• Filled in pay card for Jia Hu at the beginning of the semester, but Jia Hiu actually works for us. She is now getting paid.
