User Services Weekly Report

Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics: 1,071 reserve items processed at Davis so far
650 emails re: Fall Term reserves processed so far
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Tried to figure out how to put the jing instructional flash to the wiki but was unsuccessful. I even went to the media lab and they couldn’t figure edit out.
• replaced one of the walk-up machines with a newer machine
Music:
• Fall schedule full – no new hires!
• Adding stuff to reserves / ERes
Davis Family:
• First year orientation event on Bittner Terrace went well
• Screening procedure meeting tomorrow to go over workflows
• Created student contact info/contract web form for circ student employees
• Swapped student Macs for new ones
• The circ students continued to work on projects, shelf reading and so on. They organized the the 201 closet for Doreen and have help Kellam by pulling media and books
• Working on filling gaps in schedule – gearing up for new hires
• The Student payroll cards are made out and up to Student employment.
• Distribution list more Main Library is up to date.
• Circ meeting; interesting talk by Joseph on repairs/binding and good information from Nate on printing procedures
• Working on 2010-11 AY hours
Stacks:
• Gearing up for fall – quiet right now
Reserves:
• Reserves! Circ students continue to do an amazing and accurate job pulling items, searching, and shelving
• Attended new faculty meeting (organized by Reference staff) and spoke/answered questions re: reserves
• Boxed up BLWC books after conference ended
Curricular Tech team: did not attend meeting this week
Space Team: results of campus-wide survey are in; met with Jenn to go over the results

Challenges:
• Confusion re: staff schedules: who is closing
• Short-staffed at Armstrong
• Still waiting on repair of Music Library circ computer
