Highlights:
• Lots of returns…. busy with front end activity
• Exam period – busy in the libraries
• Main: 24/7 in full swing, book returns galore, heavy use of study rooms with reservations often extending into early hours, increased reference questions at Circ, slight decrease in paging slip requests in the evenings, heavy use of color printing/copying, heavy use of equipment especially LCD projectors
• Cookie night 
• Student employee meeting with Public Safety – staying safe in the libraries and on campus
• NExpress – developing workflow for DVD retrieval and processing
• Equipment: Following up on lots of equipment overdues; connecting with LS re: translating the equipment user agreement for LS borrowers
• Student Employees: Main: stats – 100% of shifts have been filled and all students have shown up for all shifts; summer and fall 1:1 training; maximizing use of students scheduled at desk to help re-shelve flood of returns. Armstrong: missed student shifts; last minute summer student staff loss – w/a miracle outcome! Amazingly, able to find and hire a replacement; exam schedule gaps. Music: Exam schedule almost full
• Armstrong: Busy, busy library; lots of studying going on – most carrels, tables, computers, seats, tables in use constantly; lots of returns; requests (ILL, NExpress, etc.) are up
• Music: Power outage (and all that goes with the power resuming like unlocking doors, restarting compact shelving, etc.); fire alarm at Music Sunday am; celebration lunch with seniors
• Stacks: riding the wave of returns; trying to keep up; support from Circ; shifting project on hold for the moment
• Reserves: Cementing plans for Davison Library set up on June 22; BLNM books on their way to NM; lots of blogging, wikiing going on!

Challenges:
• Concerns about the future – staffing and budget
• Power outage on Saturday! Great team effort by LIS staff and Circ students in response to emergency
• Circ staff illness on Sunday, leaving Circ short-staffed for most of the day
• Minor injury in vestibule
• Late night – drunk (student) patron
• Movable shelving out of order
• Printers out of order
• Millennium issues; server problems
• Crazy amount of student employee substituting activity at all 3 Circ Desks
• Equipment issues – unable to fill reservations when overdue; equipment being returned without assorted pieces effectively putting them out of circulation
• Self-Check unit out of order during 24/7
• Suspicious behavior incident in the library over the weekend
• Circ loaner equipment returned to Helpdesk
• User confusion about where to pick up equipment borrowed from the Media loaner pool
• Main – keeping up with re shelving while still providing attentive service at the front desk
• Main – situation with drunk (college student)
• Overdue reserve materials
• Armstrong – plotter printing problems; overdue calculator, headphones, and reserve items; computing issues – one died, another with domain trust issues
• Armstrong – exam weekend schedule gaps
• Armstrong – had student drop summer work from July 1- Aug. 15;
• In other words, Murphy’s Law meets the end of the academic year!
