Progress on Goals:
GOAL: Develop reliable and accurate measurements at circulation service points to document activity and quality of services.
• Music Library – keeping head count during evenings – last week, M -Th 9-midnight – total 22 people

Goal: Develop a proposal for staffing plan; LIS services, circulation workflows for Davison Library during BLSE and BLWC Summer 09
• Planning for staffing plan underway; soliciting staff feedback; studying user trends and staff schedules from last year

Goal: Develop regular schedule and content for student training
• Updated student documentation of the Circ WIKI

Highlights:
• Reserves: Activity still peaking – media, books and ERes; busy week with reserve requests, and emails, and copyright issues, and more…; Reserves work continues on the weekend, but not as busy
• Staffed Arm during illness on very short notice
• Student employees: Maura training 1:1 with 7 new students since 1/5; Spring semester schedules still in flux; lots of last minute requests for changes, subs; planning for summer hiring – deadlines are looming; updated student section of the WIKI; Arm and Music schedules set for the semester; filing extensions for summer employment past 8/15; ILL/Reserve student workers – cementing work schedule; planning summer student employment sharing with Stacks/Reserves
• Thesis carrels: carrel prep/carrel Monday went well overall, following up on a couple of minor carrel issues; key and lock repairs; not all students had verification – some changes still pending on Banner; suggestion to switch distribution time to the evening on the 1st carrel assignment day
• Equipment: Laptops, laptops, laptops; laptop request collaboration; updated go/equipment page with a link to Billing and Credit Policies page — to make go/equipment one-stop shopping; nine new VGA adapters added to equipment pools at Main and Arm; compatible with Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, or Macbook with Mini DisplayPort; repair and replacement issues
• Staff cross-training: New rotation schedule between Maura and Todd to start next week
• Main: New fac/staff Macs starting to be used, general busy-ness at desk in evenings, continued work on reserves shelving for newer students, increased equipment bookings
• BLSE staffing – exploring student staffing options for summer; soliciting ideas for staff schedules
• Music: Recorded CD from Flanders tapes for requestor; heavy ILL activity
• Armstrong: ILL Odyssey program; updated process in ILL documentation, training ongoing; busy, busy; lots of request processing; reserve processing; lots of tracking down/searching for missing, overdue and off-campus items needed to fill requests and for reserves
• Stacks: NExpress and paging; half-way through shifting project – making great progress!
• NExpress/ILL: Heavy activity at Main, Mus and Arm; bi-monthly returnables conference call
• Borrower data base: Updates, documentation; patron purge
• Print management: Testing release @ Main Circ
