Highlights:
• Weekends; increase in Friday eve activity; larger that usual NExpress/Midd retrieval; toner/printing troubleshooting; lots of training new students
• Carrel Monday – smooth assignment of thesis carrels; 14 left out of 34 available for j-term
• Exploring ILL changes to policy/effects on borrowing
• Starting to look ahead to summer – LS, LS@Mills, BLSE, BLWC
• Periodicals counting project – clarified procedures to reduce confusion about where to locate materials if not found on shelf
• Equipment: cleaning projects – laptops and FW drives; inventory projects; sending to repair; following up on overdues; looking forward to Kellam’s return
• Reserves: Met with Abbie from Mills to discuss strategies for her implementation of a library for summer language schools; moving along with spring time reserves…; Circ supporting reserves on weekend in Kellam’s absence
• Armstrong: winter term seems to be going along fine; steady but not crazy pace; created and posted signs, blogged, printed out the spreadsheets, etc. for the periodical survey
• Blog – increase in readership by student staff; trying to come up with a gimmick/game/bribe to entice/remind students to read the daily blog
• Main: Gathering stats; completed searching monthly missing lists – lots found!
• Student Employees: Main Winter term schedule has jelled; fewer and fewer panic requests; work on finalizing spring schedule; Feb break schedule, summer schedule…; Armstrong – finished Interviews and hired 3 new students last week; started training these new students with a goal of completing all training by the students second shift working with me; Music – trained 1 new student
• Music: Very quiet at Music; NExpress requests (20+ by same individual in one day)
• Mill Circ: Changed NExpress cancellation notice to fix bug; solved (hopefully) the issue of the billing fee when a billed item is returned
• Wiki: updates to procedures, checklists – newspapers, Main opening/closing, entering borrowers; circ mailbox
• Stacks: Last of the big Japanese gift collection on shelf (almost!); moving ahead on next phase of shift
• Workshops etc: Fifth Discipline book reading/discussion group

Challenges
• Kellam away – decreased reserve and equipment support; long hours for reserve coordinator; decreased support on weekends to Circ, Res, Equipment
• Check-in errors – increase in claims returned on shelf
• Film screening workflow changes
• Periodicals count project – longer period before being re-shelved
• Armstrong student schedule – still in flux
• Change to FM courier service between branches
