Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks
Statistics:

• Checkouts in January at Davis: 9488 (down 8.6% from last January, despite the common belief that this has been the busiest J-term in memory)
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Fixed broken plotter
• Only 9 student shifts left to cover for Spring
• Collecting course evaluations this week
• ILL picking up
• Attended circ meeting
• Attended meeting with Mike and Tim
• Big event in Bi-Hall for Center for Social Entrepreneurship – lots of people and questions
• Poster session in the Great hall tomorrow
Davis Family:
• Training of new students going well
• Feb break schedule all full
• Steady traffic in the evenings till about 10
• Equipment is in HIGH demand – firewire drives, voice recorders, camcorders, LCDs
• Planning a “staff picks” display for movies and CDs
• Very good meeting with Mike and Tim
• Discussing overdue penalty points
• Cleaned DVD repair machine
• Management training starts tomorrow ( so look out!)
Stacks:
• Shifting DVD collection to allow for removal of middle shelves of the third aisle
• Reffing a ton of Chinese books
Reserves:
• Attended ARL webinar re: Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Academic and Research Libraries
• Winter Term reserves have winded down; all about Spring Term — 350 emails and counting
• Helped with a special locker request for senior project/research
Web team: Plugging away at Google Analytics – planning for more usability testing
Space Team: n/a
CT Team: no meeting
Challenges:
• Meeting re: BLNM reserve books was cancelled and not rescheduled
• Issue with reserve DVD during screening: turned out to be a region 1 vs. 2 issue and not a damaged disc
• iPad resetting process has altered since the iOS5 upgrade
• LCDs (and other equipment) not getting returned when it is due. Lots of time wasted sending out emails begging for it back.
