Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks
Statistics: number of prospective students (who also happen to play oboe) successfully recruited to attend Middlebury: 1
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• ILL activity high
• Large shipment of bound periodicals in – no space to put them
• Thinking about j-term student schedule
• Lots of shift swapping among students
Music:
• ILL/NExpress picking up
Davis Family:
• Payroll went smoothly
• Lots of new books this week
• ILL separating Armstrong Nexpress books when checking them in has proven very useful
• Nancy showed Kim how to do the weekly money run
• Students and staff getting into the Halloween spirit
• Shawn and Janine attending “The Many Hats of Access Services” in Boston
• Adding labels to equipment as it comes in
• Many staff attended HR time management workshop
Stacks:
• Heavier activity than usual
• Inspected stacks at Armstrong ; bound periodicals need to be weeded and shifted
Reserves:
• Contacted winter term faculty about getting stuff on reserve
• Signed up for copyright workshop in November
CT team: Prepping for Moodle and Sakai pilots
Space Team: Music Library move
Challenges:
• Browsing DVDs going back to the shelves with DVDs in them
• Booked DVD for a screening found in P&P still waiting to be processed
• Circ student using staff computer – investigating
• Misshelved reserve items
• Plotter at Armstrong died – repaired
