Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics: almost 2500 items on reserve
17 CD’s away from 20,000
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Lots of printing
• Morgan out, so ILL volume is lower
• Lots of student shift swapping, preparations for Fall break
• Met to discuss shelf-ready books for Armstrong
Music:
• Smooth sailing
Davis Family:
• Noticeably busier this week
• Busy Fall Family weekend, lots of families, colder weather
• Student schedule is crazy, especially with Fall break
• Transferred two LCD projectors from Armstrong for use at Davis
• Only two items that were transferred to college bills have been returned
• New system in place for tracking student hours
• The Manual Block is proving to be a useful tool
• Added url for digital voice recorder manual to DVR bags
• Kicking around ideas to raise interest/excitement level on the circ blog
• Connected with Helpdesk staff regarding what is working and what could be better with loaner laptops
• Met with a rep from the Addison Central School District about a special-needs students internship program – looking into it, along with the Helpdesk
Stacks:
• Re-shelving volume increased this week
• Broken key in one carrel – facilities notified
Reserves:
• Thinking about SLA’s
• Registered for online 2-week course on copyright
CT team: Wrote goals for upcoming managers meeting
Space Team: presented to AD’s

Challenges:
• Student coverage confusion at Armstrong Sunday
• Printer issues at Armstrong
• Database access issues (ERes)
• Error in processing of New Books – workflow clarified
• New students still needing reminders about some workflows
• Hive of giant killer spiders discovered in the reference section
• Reports of thesis carrels upstairs (#46-68) being too loud
