User Services Weekly Report

Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics:
• First time since December that we have loaned more NExpress than we have requested
• Number of reserve emails processed: 500+
• Number of items placed on reserve for Fall: 650+
• Number of applicants for the open circ sub position: 13
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Still fairly quiet this week
• Many ILL and NExpress requests
• Reserve items coming in
• Copiers removed last week
• 203K printer (most used printer on campus) replaced with a new one
• 8 student shifts left to fill
Davis Family:
• Students working on DVD project, pulling for reserves
• BLWC all re-shelved
• Down two student workers last week
• Getting returning students up to speed with new Google calendar schedules
• Mandatory circ student training meeting scheduled for 9/22
• Lots of faculty questions at the desk
• LIS party
• Student directory updating
• Working on signage for DVDs
• Laserdiscs found and retrieved for French Department
• iPads are circulating
• Collecting feedback from the summer
• Collecting applicants for circ sub position – will start calling people today
• Activity definitely picking up – lots of directional questions at the desk
Stacks:
• Reshelving
• New shelves behind the circ desk – shelved restricted DVDs, Oversize DVDs, moved Oversize CD’s and Laser discs
Reserves:
• Reserves!
• Attended LIS orientation for new faculty
• More reserves
• In free time, some reserves, for fun

Web team: marketing strategies for LIS services
Space Team: did not meet

Challenges:
• Some minor student issues, reminders
• Lack of public photocopying
• Bee sting
