User Services Weekly Report

Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics: approximate number of DVD’s re-cased into locking containers so far: 1480
Number of items on Summer reserve so far: 1100

Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Vacations and conferences
• Maintenance on a couple of computers, plotter
• Students working on Jstor and Google Sketch-Up projects
Davis Family:
• Swapping out and re-imaging fac/staff laptops, inventorying
• Screenings starting up for LS
• Adding Midd Tag # into Millennium to help ID laptops the same way Helpdesk does
• Down to two students for the week until the new batch arrives Monday
• Updating wiki to remove references to Music Library
• Cleaning up outstanding holds
• Figuring out Microsoft Office summer licensing
• Messing with distribution groups for students – ended up sticking with what we have
• Busy reunion weekend
• Pulling items for reserves
• Some training for how to search, locate Music materials
Stacks:
• All M-Z shelves have been relabeled
• Shifted PR-PT to ease tightness
• Pulled oversize GV’s and reshelved them in the regular stacks
• Working on:
o Setting up shelves in browsing DVDs
o Re-shift N’s
o Relabel A-L
o Add remainder of CD shelving inserts
Reserves:
• BL and LS reserves
• Updating BL documentation
• Planning BL setup
CT team: vacation
Space Team: hiatus

Challenges:
• Last minute requests for BL reserves
• Waiting for recalled reserve items
• Media needed for reserve being processed/recased
• Students in the building after closing
• Student employee signed up to work two 40 hour/week jobs this summer…grrr….
