User Services Weekly Report

Workgroups; Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics: 1048 ERES documents added Spring 2010
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Stacks:
• Finished bar-coding replacement keys. Only a half dozen remain on my desk as these are to locker and carrels that need to be repaired.
• set up excel sheet for weekly daily opening gate count.
• Future task: prepare room for 6 rows of art auction catalogs. (L class)
Reserves:
• Thank you to everyone who covered for me during my time away! Great work all around.
• Prep for BLWC: ordering books, scheduling desk coverage, updating documentation; will begin pulling items for reserve soon
• BLSE and LS reserves activity has slowed; Fall ’10 activity starting to trickle in
Davis Family:
• Laptops, PC and Mac, continue to be a high demand item
• Added 6 Mac firewire drives
• Web applications coming in for guest borrower privileges
• Staff covering for each other on vacations, in car wrecks, etc.
• Emails in libcirc mailbox categorized for easier browsing, catching-up
• Added “report a missing book” link to MIDCAT
Music:
• Dan out last week
• No major issues – steady activity
Armstrong:
• started a few projects for the students: maps, Shelf reading and science link checking
• a number of computers in Armstrong that were reported to helpdesk
• helped a professor with his new apple set-up
CT Team: Initial recommendations presented to AD’s: mixed results
Space Team: sent out test survey to handpicked recipients re: service points in the library; will send to all-campus once test feedback is received next week

Challenges:
• LS bilinguals not aware of reserve policies re: needing permission from faculty to take item out of library and/or have an extended loan
• Tuesday all of Millennium crashed and had to be shut down for Barbara to fix
• Student did not open Music Library Saturday morning
• printer for Ill coping broke and was fixed (Armstrong)
