Business sustainability program at Manomet
U360 is an experiential education and professional development program focused on business sustainability offered by the nonprofit Manomet. The U360 internship is designed to train the next generation of change-makers by helping college students gain the professional, technical, and interpersonal skills needed to make a difference in the world through their future careers. U360 increases students’ knowledge of environmental issues; the “triple-bottom line” of business sustainability (environmental, social, and governance); and business management—and their critical thinking and problem-solving skills—through real-world applications. The two-semester program incorporates applied science, business, and sustainability workshops, career skills training, sustainability assessments of small businesses, and a Capstone project. Consulting vs Investment Banking
Here is one opinion about the differences and similarities between these career paths that we thought you would enjoy:
“There are dozens of articles and forum posts about this topic, but they tend to skip some important points.
For example, many articles fail to discuss the big differences between working at one of the top three consulting firms (McKinsey, Bain, and BCG, or “MBB”) and smaller consulting firms.
Based on this omission, they present a misleading view of the exit opportunities available from each field.
We’ll get to exit opportunities, salaries, and more, but let’s start with the basic definitions first:”

Consulting Job at Notch Partners – alum referred
Notch Partners was founded in 2002 by two HBS graduates and has since grown into one of the premier human capital consulting firms. Notch works to connect our private equity clients with industry-leading executives across a wide range of industries to assess investment opportunities, generate deal ideas, and/or improve the performance of client portfolio companies.
We are seeking intellectually curious and high EQ/IQ, recent college graduates who are interested in working in a fast-paced, professional environment where young employees take on substantial responsibility early in their career. We consider all candidates, regardless of college major or industry experience: we will teach you to be successful in this role, but you should have an interest in working in a client-facing, business-oriented capacity. You will need to bring a people driven attitude, intellectual curiosity and be results oriented.
Here are some thoughts and application tips from Casey Lilley ’20 about her experiences:
“Notch Partners has been an amazing place to start my career. Here at Notch, we prioritize people, striving to build long-term relationships that unlock success for our clients. Notch embodies this principal not only in its approach to client and executive communication, but also with its employees. Associates at Notch are given significant responsibility and independence right out of the gate, and yet are supported and mentored through challenges.
As a recent 2020 graduate, I have found every day to present an opportunity for learning and growth. You will get unparalleled exposure speaking with industry leading executives, communicating directly with clients, and completing industry research. A successful applicant should show a true eagerness to learn, demonstrate a keen interest in Notch and what we do, and will be communicative through both writing and dialogue. Be specific and detail-oriented, but let your personality and interests shine through.”
