It’s time to get serious people, because December graduation 2010 is right around the corner. Time flies when you’re having fun, and although you might think it’s too early to start preparing for the next chapter- it’s not. By now you should have a general idea of how you want to start your career, but what about where you start that journey? I’ve done a little digging in our abundant data archives here at Experience so I could bring to you the 5 top states with the most jobs!

#1-New York. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that NY has the most jobs to offer for entry level employees. With over 33,000 jobs available, NY is the hot spot for you hard working and determined graduates. Is there possibly a better place to kick-start your career? Even in a time where the unemployment rate is comparable to the great depression, New York is rich in Marketing, Administrative Support, Management and Research jobs. In the words of the great Frank Sinatra, “Wake up in the city that doesn’t sleep. Make a brand new start of it, in New York, New York!”

# 2- Illinois. Illinois is far way from NY, but when it comes to getting a job, it comes in at number two on our top states to work. If the fact that Illinois offers over 21,000 entry-level positions in Marketing, Sales, Accounting, Teaching/Education and Finance isn’t enough for you, here’s more… Illinois boasts a first class workforce that offers innovative job training programs. The state has unparalleled infrastructure with one of the most efficiently working highway interstates in the nation. From its impressive post-graduate education facilities, to its moderate climate, to its sports and recreation opportunities; Illinois offers great quality of living.

# 3-Massachusetts. Dropping in at number three on our list is Experience’s very own Massachusetts. Massachusetts offers over 17,000 jobs for entry-level employees, and if you carry that go-getter attitude with you to the “bean” you will fit right in. If you’re looking for jobs in the fields of Marketing, Research, Administrative Support, Engineering or Sales, this state is where you want to start your search. Massachusetts is an ever changing atmosphere that brings you the best of the four seasons. So whether you love to ski, love to swim, or both, Massachusetts has it all!

#4-Pennsylvania. Number four on our list of top states to work is the chocolate capital of the US, Pennsylvania. Home of the Hershey’s Chocolate factory, Pennsylvania also boasts over 14,000 entry-level jobs is the fields of Marketing, Administrative support, Engineering, Sales and Finance. Pennsylvania is rich in history and heritage, and with yearlong festivals and fairs the amusement never ends. If you want to bring your skills to a hardworking environment but want to bypass the exhaustion of living in a big city, Pennsylvania is perfect for you!

#5-New Jersey. Closing out our list of top states to work in the U.S. is New Jersey. With all the hype recently surrounding the “Jersey Shore” it’s no surprise that the economy in Jersey is on the rise. You DON’T have to be a “juicehead” to land one of the 12,000 entry-level jobs offered in this state, so don’t hesitate to skip that box when filling out your application. Administrative Support, Marketing, Research, Finance and Engineering are the leading jobs in this state, and New Jersey is home to a beautiful summer getaway, and its right next door to our number one location to work. If you enjoy work by day and fun by night, New Jersey is your perfect destination!
