A few words from Driscoll ’91:

If you like a dynamic, challenging work environment, multi-tasking, working with people and unlimited earning potential then you should think about working in the Staffing industry with Robert Half International!

I began working at RHI as a Staffing Manager in 1992, one year after graduating from Middlebury. It was a similar time to 2010 as we were emerging from one of the worst white collar recessions to date. I answered an ad in the Boston Globe and chose RHI over several other sales positions.

I was drawn to the professionalism of the people I met there AND the fact that the by product of all of our efforts and my sales got people JOBS! I quickly became one of the top Staffing Managers Company wide. In the Staffing Manager role you spend 75% of your time calling hiring managers at companies and trying to build relationships telephonically and by scheduling client visits to go meet them in person. The goal of the relationship is that when the hiring managers (clients) have a need for accounting or finance talent (Accountemps) or highly skilled administrative talent (OfficeTeam) they will call YOU! The other 25% of your time is spent interviewing potential candidates, making the matches and filling the jobs you and your team have generated.

RHI has an  incredibly fast paced and ever changing work environment as you are always dealing with different candidates and clients. We work in teams and in a bullpen and are constantly on the phone, emailing, interviewing candidates or visiting clients. The industry is highly competitive and virtually every company is a potential client.

It is hard work but very rewarding on multiple levels. RHI is a NYSE, S&P 500 international company that is very growth oriented. What has kept me here for 18 years is that it is the biggest “pay for and promote for performance” company out there. If you do a good job in whatever job you are in you will make more money and have the opportunity to do more with the company.
