…But it’s the middle of nowhere
Middlebury is in a very rural location. That, combined with the fact that fewer students are on campus than normal for the summer, somehow led my mom to believe that I had no friends here and was lonely. (while I may only be posting pictures of one person in this post, I promise mom I actually have friends)
I did not have a car on campus during either of my two years here, which limited my exploring capabilities. Now that I have a vehicle, I eagerly hit up a place I had been yearning to visit: the Ben and Jerry’s factory. The residential life interns organized the trip. I ate plenty of ice cream (the new brrrito is great, although personally I prefer my ice cream in bowls), took selfies with my ice cream, learned about the production, and bought a trucker hat. #priorities

The next day I went with one of my friends to the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum for their pirate festival. We were the only ones not accompanied by children under the age of ten. It was a beautiful day, and we made cute bead bracelets at arrrrrts and crafts

I never felt like I missed out on anything by not having a car during the year, and I won’t have one this upcoming year, but it is nice to have that freedom to explore all that’s going on around us.
I would also like to apologize for the fact that I make the same silly face in all selfies. It’s a character flaw that I probably will never fix.
