Time: 5:00pm BST

Proposed topic: Discover more about Postgraduate opportunities Cambridge. In this session, we’ll introduce the University of Cambridge and what it’s like to live and study at one of the UKs most historic universities. We’ll cover the key stages of applying and hear from a current student. There will also be opportunity for Q&As as part of the webinar.
*The session will be recorded for those who are unable to attend.

In general, the sessions will be 45 minutes – 60 minutes long and will be held Mondays (or Tuesdays if Monday is a bank holiday) at 5:00pm GMT or BST. The topic and structure of the sessions will be determined by each partner university but might include a presentation, mini lecture or a student panel. 

S. Grady Welsh Selected as a Goldwater Scholar

Congratulations to S. Grady Welsh ’24 who was named a 2023 Goldwater Scholar! The Goldwater Scholarship Program was designed to foster and encourage outstanding students to pursue research careers in the fields of the natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics. Grady plans to pursue a PhD in ecology and study interactions between climate change and wetlands. The 413 Scholars this year were selected from 1267 natural science, engineering and mathematics students nominated by 427 academic institutions. Two Middlebury Seniors Win Watson Fellowships

Congratulations to Aubrianna Wilson ’23 and Clark O’Bryan ’23 who were recently selected as Watson Fellows by the Thomas J. Watson Foundation! The fellowship provides funding for one year of purposeful exploration through a self-designed project. Clark will travel to Ireland, Rwanda, Bangladesh and Japan to explore how traditional builders and craftspeople are responding to a changing climate. Aubrianna will work with disability communities in Spain, the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia, exploring how dancers, actors, healers and advocates foster disability justice, empowerment and healing. Middlebury Named Top Producer of Fulbrights for 2022-2023

Middlebury College was again named a Top Producer of Fulbrights with seven graduates offered US Student Fulbright grants for 2022-2023. Read more in the Newsroom.

Summer Research at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Applications are open for a 10-week research experience that will allow undergraduates the chance to work alongside experienced faculty mentors and explore pressing aerospace problems at Embry-Riddle.

The Interdisciplinary Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program provides total immersion into all aspects of laboratory work along with other enrichment activities. Students receive a $5,000 stipend, with their housing and meals covered.

During the REU program, students will use our leading-edge laboratories to conduct multidisciplinary research in aerospace engineering, chemistry and applied space biology with a goal of improving future space materials science and human diagnostic technology.

The research will be housed in Embry-Riddle’s College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering, with most of the College of Engineering research done in labs at the MicaPlex, an incubator for innovative new companies and the cornerstone building of the university’s renowned Research Park.
