Background: Flyway Wellness (www.flywaywellness.com) is a Burlington based start-up entering the college mental health and counseling market. This is a new focus for the business, which currently provides mind-body health systems to the behavioral health market, including opioid treatment clinic and recovery centers. To inform product development and launch in 2019, Flyway seeks a Winter term intern to help understand key elements of college counseling and mental health services. Internship is only available to Middlebury students.
Internship scope of work: Help Flyway research student experiences and services offered at college counseling centers to inform our service model. Work will include market research to understand:
  • Provider best practices: What are best practices for college counseling services? What are the pain points and barriers to implementing these best practices?
  • Student experiences: What does a rewarding and productive experience with counseling services include and look like? In reality, what do experiences today look like?
  • Administrators: How are administrators involved in counseling centers? What are best practices for their involvement?
Qualifications:
  • Interest in mental health, psychology, business, and innovation
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in small groups
  • Market research experience
  • Upperclassman

  • Terrific learning and mentoring opportunity: Internship will be managed by founder Betsy Nesbitt, former management consultant (Monitor Deloitte and Cambridge Associates), with an MBA from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a commitment to helping young adults navigate early professional years
  • Work from Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (http://vcet.org/) amazing co-working space in Burlington and/or Middlebury
  • Previous interns have had great experience (references from Middlebury and UVM interns available)
