THINKMD was founded in 2014 as a social impact Benefit Corporation to develop solutions to eliminate premature deaths, which is in part a consequence of a growing shortage of healthcare professionals and systemic challenges in healthcare delivery. Founded by two physicians, they envision a world where innovative approaches, systems and knowledge can lead to new disruptive approaches to expanding global access to healthcare for everyone, everywhere. As a benefit corporation, they take a market-driven approach to achieving social impact. They believe social enterprises have the potential to be more innovative, efficient, and effective in achieving financially sustainable systems-level change. They believe that they must deliver the highest quality technology supported by sustainable financial models—only then will they create lasting systematic change that achieves their global mission.
Their team includes clinicians, engineers, data scientists, strategists, and global health specialists. They utilize an integrative development approach to develop novel technology to change healthcare delivery, and leverage critical public health data that will improve clinical outcomes, surveillance, and healthcare management globally.
