The Blackmagic Video Assist 7” 12G HDR is an advanced portable monitor and recorder designed for professional filmmaking, digital cinema, and live production. This model supports 12G-SDI and Ultra HD HDMI inputs, enabling it to handle formats up to 2160p60. With its bright, wide-gamut LCD, it’s perfect for HDR shooting and outdoor environments. The monitor also supports Blackmagic RAW recording, providing flexibility in post-production with high-quality, open file formats.

Monitoring Tools

The Video Assist includes features such as focus peaking, false color, histogram, zebra, waveforms, and 3D LUTs, allowing for precise exposure control and framing during filming. It provides real-time feedback on your footage with customizable overlays, helping you ensure the quality of your shots as you go.

HDR and 3D LUTs

With HDR support, this model offers an enhanced dynamic range, providing clear visibility of bright highlights and dark shadows. You can load custom 3D LUTs in .cube format via the USB-C port, or use the built-in LUTs to monitor your footage with specific color profiles, ideal for color grading and film looks.

Audio

The Video Assist 7” 12G HDR features high-quality audio meters and professional audio connectivity with two mini XLR inputs with phantom power. It supports multi-channel SDI audio, making it suitable for a wide range of audio sources.

Assignable Buttons

The monitor includes four customizable buttons for quick access to essential features, enabling fast adjustments during shooting without navigating through menus.

Remote Control

Supports RS-422 via RJ45 connectors, allowing for remote control of the monitor and the ability to link multiple devices together for a unified monitoring setup.
