From Katherine, “The Geriatric Psychiatry Research Program at McLean Hospital is currently hiring 1-2 more Research Assistants to begin in the next few months. As always, we wanted to make sure to advertise the postings to the Middlebury community! We also want to get the opportunity on the radar of the 2018.5 and 2019 grads, as we will likely be hiring for an additional 1-2 positions to start around February or March and 2-3 for June.”

General Summary:

The Geriatric Psychiatry Research Program at McLean Hospital is directed by Dr. Brent Forester and addresses cutting edge research questions in the areas of dementia and mood disorders using new neuroimaging techniques, clinicopathological correlations, and other study methods. Current studies include a number of Industry-led Alzheimer’s Disease clinical drug trials, longitudinal analyses of older adults with depression and bipolar disorder, and an EEG study assessing cognitive changes associated with geriatric treatment resistant depression. These positions are geared towards students interested in gaining both clinical and research experience. Research Assistants will gain a depth and breadth of clinical experience driven by extensive patient interaction and comprehensive exposure to running a research study. Several Middlebury College students have interned and worked at McLean and have found it to be a highly rewarding experience. The current posting is for individuals who can start in the late fall 2018. We will have additional openings around February 2019 which could be ideal for Feb grads and a few more openings for June of 2019.
