During the course of the semester you will write two formal essays (6-7 pages).  These assignments are a place where you can think through some of the ideas and concerns raised by the readings and discussions.  The first paper permits an exposition on architecture (as aesthetic practice and urban planning) while the second focuses on the visual arts of the 60s.
