Business Advising with Sarah Kearns: Do you have an idea for a business or have you started a business? Could you use some guidance on your business or idea? Sarah Kearns from the VT Small Business Development Center will be holding office hours at the Innovation Hub at 132 Blinn Lane on Mondays from 1:00-3:00. MiddChallenge is an idea competition in which students compete for up to $3000 grants to help turn their innovative ideas in business products and services, social impact and sustainability, and arts into reality. Keep an eye out this spring for more information.
MiddStart is a crowdfunding platform through which students independently fundraise for projects. Applications for funding are accepted on a rolling basis.
MiddEntrepreneurs is a winter term course for students who want to start their own business or nonprofit organization. Students spend the month developing their ideas, building their organizations, and preparing for the culminating event—pitching their ideas to a panel of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders. Applications will be available later this fall.
MiddVentures Club is a student organization that aims to connect, foster, and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit throughout the Middlebury College community. To Midd Ventures, an entrepreneur is anyone who wants to innovate and create value. The Vermont Ventures trip series serves to engage Middlebury students with Vermont-based ventures and organizations. Stay tuned for upcoming events and ways to get involved.
MiddCORE is a mentor-driven leadership and innovation intensive that helps students develop the skills, confidence, and experience to launch their passions into the world. Applications for J-term are due at the end of October and open middle of September.
