Watson Fellowship Webinar Sept. 14

Hello, Watson (and future Watson) applicants! The Fall Watson Webinar will take place on Thursday, September 14th at 3:30pm ET. You can register via this link. Those applying for the Fall 2024 cycle will have already applied for nomination by this date, but the foundation webinar may still be useful to you. Those who may apply in future cycles should attend!

The 2023-24 Selection Process
For Middlebury nominees, we anticipate that the Watson interview process will be in person this year.

Important Dates
Middlebury Watson Internal Deadline: Friday, September 7 at noon.
Watson National Application Deadline: Wednesday, November 8th 2023, at 12pm ET. All nominee applications, including recommendation letters and nomination letters, must be submitted by this time. 

Award Announcement  
All Watson nominees will be notified and the 2024 Watson Fellowships announced on Friday, March 15th, 2024.

Two Middlebury Seniors Win Watson Fellowships

Congratulations to Aubrianna Wilson ’23 and Clark O’Bryan ’23 who were recently selected as Watson Fellows by the Thomas J. Watson Foundation! The fellowship provides funding for one year of purposeful exploration through a self-designed project. Clark will travel to Ireland, Rwanda, Bangladesh and Japan to explore how traditional builders and craftspeople are responding to a changing climate. Aubrianna will work with disability communities in Spain, the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia, exploring how dancers, actors, healers and advocates foster disability justice, empowerment and healing. Fulbright and Watson Updates—Aug. 15 Fulbright Intent to Apply Deadline and Aug. 30 Drop-In Advising

For those applying for a 2023-24 Fulbright or Watson Fellowship, the internal application deadlines are coming soon—Wednesday, 9/7 for Watson and Thursday, 9/8 for Fulbright.

If you are applying for a Fulbright, Monday, August 15 is the Intent to Apply Deadline.
Meeting this deadline insures you will receive feedback on your application and a copy of your transcript to upload prior to the 9/8 internal deadline. For details see go.middlebury.edu/fulbright.

Drop-In Advising for Fulbright and Watson on Tuesday, August 30 from 1-2:30 pm.
