About the MISO survey

The MISO (Measuring Information Service Outcomes) survey was introduced in 2005, with Middlebury College joining that year as a charter member.  The survey targets those higher education institutions with merged library and IT departments.  Middlebury generally participates in the survey every 2 years, on even-numbered years; the Monterey Institute for International Studies also generally participates every 2 years, on odd-numbered years.

This survey provides a framework to assess the use, importance, and satisfaction of the tools and services provided by Middlebury College’s Library and Information Services for purposes of benchmarking and comparison.  It targets the 3 principle constituencies of the College: students, faculty, and staff.  College staff employed within LIS are not included in the staff cohort.
