NBC News partnerships
consists of a small team of veteran producers and journalists who manage the editorial
relationship between NBC Network shows (TODAY, Nightly News, Meet the Press,
Dateline, Original NBC Social/Digital) and our 200+ local affiliate stations
across the country. Our goal is simple: amplify the reach of NBC reporting on
both the national and local level. Our intern plays a crucial role in reaching
this daily goal. 

Intern Purpose &
Responsibilities (Job Description):

-Populate and analyze daily
airings reports via Excel

-Research local stories,
websites and stations nationwide

-Send daily alerts increasing
local social media engagement

-Assist in producing
crosstalks (live hits) and interviews

-Transcribe meetings,
interviews and show content

-Meet and assist on tours
with visiting affiliates

-Assist on special events and
in control room

Qualifications:

Must have knowledge of
current events

Previous work experience in
an office/newsroom environment

Previous internship
experience

Strong writing skills

Strong research skills

Social media/digital skills

Familiar with various online
news websites

Ability to work under
pressure and to deadlines

Strong work ethic

Additional Information About
the Opportunity:

Interns have the ability to
attend daily production and editorial meetings. Attend Q&A sessions and
meetings throughout the internship with various NBC News correspondents,
producers, Senior staff, visiting correspondents etc. Have the unique
opportunity to observe firsthand all the platforms of NBC through the News
Partnerships team.

Education Level: Sophomore, Junior, Senior
