Interns are involved in all activities at the Printshop—the largest and oldest openly accessible printmaking studio in New York City. The Printshop’s busy studios host 140 artists in residence, 30 classes and workshops each year, several exhibitions, lectures and artists’ talks, and the Printshop participates in the annual New York Print Week and Editions/Artists’ Books Fair.

The Printshop’s internships offer opportunities to learn and hone printmaking skills, gain collaborating experience, meet exciting artists and instructors, learn about contemporary art, get an insider’s perspective on the New York City contemporary art community, and help produce new cutting-edge artwork that often pushes the boundaries of traditional printmaking.

Internships are available throughout the year. Interns are expected to have some working knowledge of printmaking, or a demonstrable interest. Regular attendance and a commitment to the program are required.

Part-time internships are unpaid, but students can receive academic credit or use our spacious and well-equipped studio in exchange for their donated time.
