Paid Summer Research Opportunities in STEM at the University of Missouri! Deadlines 2/11-3/1/22.

The University of Missouri has more than 60 slots in our AWESOME summer program for visiting students!  

In addition to providing a full time research experience and end-of-the-summer poster session, we organize evening seminars, specialty small group seminars, and orientation and social activities designed to create a supportive peer community.  Many of our seminars focus on professional development, tailored to different levels of student experience.  We provide students and faculty the tools they need to quickly establish a productive mentoring relationship.  And Columbia, Missouri is a great place to get away from distractions for the summer, and focus on research and professional development at a major research university — Big Time research with the Small Town touch!

Stipends range from $3400-$6000 and on-campus room & board.

Program Dates:  May 31- July 30, 2022 (We can not accommodate late arrivals)

February 11

Medical Research – outreach for students interested attending MU School of Medicine

February 20

Alcohol Research – psychology addiction research

Translational Biomedicine – students planning on research careers and looking at MU for graduate training

Cell & Molecular Biology – for students interested in molecular and cellular biology and looking at MU for graduate training

Cancer Research – students planning on careers in cancer research, diagnosis, or treatment and considering MU for graduate/professional studies

Materials Science & Engineering REU – broad array of materials engineering research

Animal Sciences – for students considering PhDs in animal sciences.  This is not a pre-vet program.

Consumer Networking Technologies REU – computer sciences

Ben Morris ’22 Awarded Keasbey Scholarship

Congratulations to Ben Morris ’22 who recently received a Keasbey Scholarship to support graduate study at Cambridge University! Ben is a senior Molecular Biology and Biochemistry major at Middlebury. With the support of the Keasbey, Ben will pursue a research-based master’s degree in Pathology, studying immune regulation in inflammation and cancer in Dr. Rahul Roychoudhuri’s lab at Cambridge. Applications open for PIKSI–Logic 2022

Call for applications

Undergraduates from underrepresented groups are invited to study Logic — five topics over five days, with ten top international instructors —  at Northeastern University (in person) for one week in the summer of 2022. (Dates: July 25-29)

‌There is a competitive application process for this Summer Program, and we will accept 10 students. Transportation to and from Northeastern, as well as room and board will be provided. And, a modest stipend will also be awarded to each participant.

By participating in this supportive program, undergraduates study Logic in an inclusive setting and learn that there is a place for them in the field and that they have something valuable to offer the discipline.

Seniors: FAO Schwarz Fellowship Program for Social Impact, Applications Due Feb. 10

The FAO Schwarz Fellowship program offers a transformative two-year experience designed to develop leadership skills and prepare graduating college seniors for success in the social impact sector. Each Fellowship is paid and includes benefits. You — or students that you think would be interested — can learn more about the Fellowships during an online info session on Thursday, January 12 from 12:00–12:45 pm EST (here is sign up) or during an “Ask me Anything” session with current Fellows on Jan 26 at 7 pm EST on Instagram @faofellows. Applications for the 2022–2023 cohort are due February 10, 2022. Each Fellowship includes

  • A paid position at a leading nonprofit host organization in New York, Boston, or Philadelphia
  • Direct service work combined with strategic projects that deepen the Fellow’s knowledge of social challenges and prepare them for social justice careers
