Fulbright and Watson Updates—Aug. 15 Fulbright Intent to Apply Deadline and Aug. 30 Drop-In Advising

For those applying for a 2023-24 Fulbright or Watson Fellowship, the internal application deadlines are coming soon—Wednesday, 9/7 for Watson and Thursday, 9/8 for Fulbright.

If you are applying for a Fulbright, Monday, August 15 is the Intent to Apply Deadline.
Meeting this deadline insures you will receive feedback on your application and a copy of your transcript to upload prior to the 9/8 internal deadline. For details see go.middlebury.edu/fulbright.

Join Dr. Brent Haas, Director of Admissions, to learn more about the interdisciplinary Master’s program in China Studies at the Yenching Academy of Peking University. This specially designed, English-taught degree program aims to push the study of China beyond the boundaries of traditionally defined Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines. All Yenching Scholars receive a full fellowship that covers tuition, one round-trip journey to Beijing, basic insurance, and living costs. Each year the Yenching Academy admits 120 scholars from 40+ countries and regions. In addition to coursework, scholars participate in field studies and self-designed research trips, taking advantage of opportunities to customize and maximize their experiences in Beijing, and within China’s leading university. Hasher Nisar will share his experiences as a Marshall Scholar at Oxford, where he completed a degree in Islamic Studies and History. Hasher was a Political Science major and Religion minor at Middlebury. He is also a Truman Scholar and Senior Fellow for Humanity in Action. Learn about how to research graduate programs across disciplines, understand the fellowship application processes and timeframes, including institutional nomination. This session is useful for students contemplating Fall ’21 applications and those just exploring!

New Undergraduate Research Journal Call for Submissions

Undergraduate Research invites students to submit their undergraduate work and creative endeavors.

Debuting in Winter 2020, Undergraduate Research will publish research and creative endeavors from undergraduate students enrolled in institutions of higher education from across the United States. This journal highlights the best of mentored undergraduate scholarly products across all disciplines from all types of higher education institutions.

Undergraduate Research is a national double-blind, educator-reviewed journal that will be available annually in the winter both digitally and in print, following the Council of Undergraduate Research (CUR) strategic pillars for undergraduate research and creative endeavors.
