The Norval Foundation is a privately funded art institution dedicated to the research, education, and exhibition of twentieth and twenty-first-century visual art from South Africa and beyond.
- The Norval Foundation and Middlebury College are partnering to offer two funded six-week internships in Summer 2022.
- Dates: July 4-August 12, 2022 (arrive in South Africa on July 1).
- Spend 5 weeks in Cape Town, 1 week in Johannesburg.
- Exposure to Curatorial, Art Education, Collections Management, Public Programming, and Marketing & Communications.
- Seeking students with prior exposure to art history, museum work, or African culture.
- Each internship is funded with a $5000 grant from Middlebury’s Center for Careers and Internships and The Arts Council to cover transportation, housing, and food.
- The two Middlebury interns will be housed together in housing to be secured by the Norval Foundation and paid for by students from their $5000 grant.
