Interested in designing a mission to the Saturnian moon Enceladus? Check out this year’s Caltech Space Challenge competition!

It is a prestigious 5-day event held March 24-29, 2019 in which undergraduate and graduate students from all around the world compete in designing a space-related mission. The 2019 edition of the Caltech Space Challenge, called Encelanders, is inspired by the recently ended Cassini mission: searching for traces of life on Saturn’s moon Enceladus. The participants will be asked to develop a mission concept based on a network of small landers to explore the sources of Enceladus’ geysers.

Students from a broad range of backgrounds are sought out to apply: from engineering and science, to graphic design and business/project management. More information can be found at their website: http://www.spacechallenge.caltech.edu/as-participant/ and they encourage all interested students to apply!

All expenses while at Caltech for the event are paid, and a partial to full (depending on the cost) travel reimbursement will be issued.

The online application form will be available at their website starting on October 1. Please consult the application instructions below for an overview of the required application documents. The deadline to submit or edit your application is December 1, 2018. All incomplete applications after this date will be discarded.
