In the wee morning hours of Sunday, February 4th, Mary Lothrop, Director of Health Professions and STEM Advising and I departed wintery Vermont with 10 students and 1 faculty member to begin the San Francisco Bay Area Student Tech Trek.

The Student Treks connect students with multiple alumni and organizations during on-site visits and job shadowing experiences. These CCI-led trips are unique “living and learning” cohort experiences that provide the students with an opportunity to explore a particular field of interest. The CCI works closely with members from the Middlebury Professional Networks (MPNs) to plan meaningful activities throughout the experience. We also collaborate with the alumni office and the relevant academic department. For this Trek, new computer science instructor, Jason Grant is traveling with us!
