As Spring semester approaches, we want to keep you in the loop on all things Google. The Google University Programs team has created a monthly announcements newsletter that includes important dates and job/internship opportunities.
Their February newsletter highlights opportunities at Google, coding competitions at Google, and YouTube Live Sessions. Examples include:
- Kick Start -register before the upcoming practice round on February 23rd – Kick Start is back for its 6th year with a new name, website, and platform that allows for new challenges, like interactive problems – and more! Join their Facebook Group to connect with other participants and be part of the community.
- #IamRemarkable – Tuesday, March 5th at 9:00 pm EST – #IamRemarkable is a Google developed initiative that strives to empower women and underrepresented groups to speak more openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond. Join Googlers explore this topic while sharing their insights and experiences as #IamRemarkable facilitators.
- Google Office Spotlight: Waterloo, Canada (Part 2) – Wednesday, March 6th 1:00 pm EST – Join to learn more about their Google office in Waterloo, Canada! They’ll have Googlers talk about their day to day and what opportunities they have available. No need to be a Canadian local, students globally are encouraged to tune in.
- Team up to tackle a Google engineering challenge in Hash Code 2019 – Think you could optimize the layout of a Google Data Center? Or how about routing Loon balloons to provide internet coverage to users around the world? Step into the shoes of a Google engineer during Hash Code 2019, their flagship team coding competition that challenges developers to solve a Google engineering problem. This year’s contest kicks off with an Online Qualification Round on Thursday, February 28th from 5:30-9:30 pm UTC. Top teams from this round will be invited to Google Ireland on April 17th to compete for the title of Hash Code 2019 Champion and cash prizes up to $4,000 per person. Register today: g.co/hashcode
