Students with Middlebury College’s program in Bordeaux had the opportunity to visit Périgueux last week, the capital city of the Dordogne department, in southwestern France. Périgueux was founded over 2,000 years ago and still offers today insight into its rich history and culture from prehistoric times to the Roman conquest and occupation and the wars of Religion in the 16th century. Students spent the day on November 15th exploring the city which included a guided tour of the Mataguerre Tower dating back to the late 15th century.
