The very same weekend as the “Journées du Patrimoine 2014” (the 2014 edition of French Heritage Days), students enjoyed a sunny walk through Paris led by Xavier Le Person, Professor of Modern History at the Université Paris-Sorbonne-Paris 4, Sciences Po-Paris, and Middlebury College’s School in France. Professor Le Person, who teaches a course at the Madeleine Center on the Grand Siècle (17th-century) in France, led them through historic Paris retracing the rebuilding of the city under the patronage of 17th century French kings and nobles : the walk included stops at the Louvre, the Pont Neuf and the Place Dauphine, amongst other sites.  Two other excursions are organized and offered to students during the course of the semester: one to the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte and a second to the Château de Chantilly.September 20th, 2014
